Masters CGPA Calculator — For NU Masters Students
Add your Masters semesters, subjects, and credit hours to instantly calculate your GPA and CGPA — built for National University 1-year and 2-year Masters programmes on the UGC standard 4.00 grading scale.
1-Year vs 2-Year Masters at NU
National University runs two Masters tracks. The 1-year Masters is for students who already completed a 4-year Honours degree — it usually runs across two semesters. The 2-year Masters is for students coming from a 3-year Degree Pass background, and covers more total semesters and credit hours to close that gap.
The CGPA math is identical for both — a credit-weighted average across every semester you've completed. The only real difference is how many semesters and total credit hours you'll be entering into the calculator below.
How This Calculator Works
Every subject needs two numbers: its credit hours and the grade you received (or expect to receive). Add each semester as its own group, enter your subjects — including your thesis or project course, using its actual credit value — and the calculator multiplies each grade's point value by its credit hours, sums those, and divides by total credit hours to get that semester's GPA. Your overall CGPA repeats the same calculation across every semester you've added.
Subject names are optional. Everything you type is saved automatically in your browser, so you can come back and add the next semester as new results arrive.
UGC Standard Grading Scale
This is the 4.00-point scale used across most NU Masters programmes, matching the same A+ to F structure used in Honours and Degree Pass. Some departments apply slightly different boundaries, so confirm against your own result sheet if a grade looks off.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this the official NU Masters CGPA calculator?
This is an independent, free tool built on the UGC standard grading scale that NU Masters programmes follow — it is not an official National University product. Always cross-check against your own official result sheet.
What's the difference between 1-year and 2-year Masters at NU?
The 1-year Masters is for students who already completed a 4-year Honours degree. The 2-year Masters is for students coming from a 3-year Degree Pass programme. The CGPA formula is identical for both — only the total number of semesters and credit hours differ.
Does this calculator include thesis or project credit hours?
Yes, as long as you enter the thesis or project as its own subject with its actual credit hours. Thesis courses usually carry more credit than a regular course, so they'll automatically carry more weight in your CGPA — enter the credit value exactly as shown on your syllabus.
Will my data be saved if I close the tab?
Yes, everything you enter is automatically saved in your browser as you type, so it will still be there next time you open this page on the same device and browser — nothing is uploaded to a server.
I'm an NU Honours or Degree Pass student, not Masters — should I use this page?
No, use the department-specific calculator from the homepage instead for Honours, or the Degree Pass calculator — both come with your exact courses and credit hours pre-loaded. This page is specifically for Masters, where that pre-loaded course data doesn't exist yet.
